Proposal

I have to ask something. Wouldnt it be nice, 2 have a live remix station. Instead of basing a dj tool around vinyls and songs playing, instead of making just another sound creation tool, to have something based around remixing music - live - preferrably without knowing it before. What is important for a dj is to play around with new stuff - even the first time playing it - it should be doable. So there is just no place for any preparation. Wouldnt it be nice to just have the possibility to easily slice up things, put them in, play them, in seconds?
Well, for me - yes.
And this is doable. I have seen rudimentary ideas all over by now, but nowhere really to do it *based* on that, more like an additional feature.

What i'd need for that:
- easily slice up a loop into parts - use them separately
- tracks are at the moment beat analyzed. they are not always correct. why do i have to fix them live and it is forgotten again. give me a button, to say "here - this is the beat" when i have adjusted the position, just let me hit a button "fix" and it is moved. why's that so very hard to do.
- when you analyze a track - it shouldnt be a big problem to add markers. for example - beat change - music starting - stopping - repeating - things like that. i mean - i can hear it, analyze it for myself, but that means preparing. a computer can help here a lot. if these markers exist, even without knowing a song well it would be possible to find just the right position to start out your loops, or position to start it.
- finally again a good filter for each loop. maybe stackable. what i want here again is not one button to filter down/up, but 2. one is position, 2nd is width. bandpass for life. just makes so much more sense this way. please give me a big bunch of them, because what is important, to have it sound good - music should not be too much - every frequency counts - if you just add more - it will sound like a big soup of sounds. i want just a part - the part needed - nothing else. width is essential for that. controllers don't really reflect that. software too. and no - dont need 5 - give me those 2. kick resonance and just give me more than one of them so i might even take 2 frequency bands out of one track. or 3. and maybe one of them including resonance. yeah.
i dont need equalizers.
why?
if you have a good way of handling filters - what for?
equalizer would be filter position, width, volume.
easy :) more flexible. more fun.

that is just to start out. it should really be possible to do that :)
